REASONS WHY WAKA FLOCKA AND LIL B ARE THE MODERN DAY KINGS OF RAP

the64thfloor:

OK NOW BEFORE LIL B AND WAKA CAME OUT. THINK ABOUT ALL THE OTHER RAPPERS WITH CULT LIKE FOLLOWINGS THAT WERE’NT AROUND….

GOT IT?

OKAY!

NOW SINCE WAKA COME UP GUESS WHAT TREND WAS BIRTHED….THIS PSEUDO-RATCHET LUXURY RAP. I’LL BE THE ONE TO SAY IT SINCE NO ONE WON’T……A COUPLE OF TRACKS OFF WATCH THE THRONE ARE LUXURY RAP RIP-OFFS OF WAKA’S STYLE. AND SINCE THAT ALBUM PEEP HOW MANY OTHER “LUXURY RAP” ARTISTS THERE ARE NOW…EVEN ARTISTS

OKAY. NOW.

LIL B’S CONTRIBUTION IS A LITTLE MORE EXTENSIVE. BECAUSE SINCE HIS SOLO MIXTAPES/ALBUMS HAVE CAME OUT HE INFLUENCED A GANG OF RAP CREWS, BROUGHT BACK CERTAIN REGION RAP STYLES/FLOWS THAT PEOPLE ARE BASING THEIR WHOLE CAREERS OFF RIGHT NOW AND ALSO STARTED 2 POP CULTURE CRAZES. THE WHOLE “SWAG” PHRASE. AND THE COOKING DANCE. (HONORABLE MENTION TO THE “THANK YOU BASED GOD” PHRASE)

now many people can argue and say lil b bit the whole “swag” shit from ODD FUTURE…whatever, the case i both heard them start saying it at the same time. and it has been documented that the guys in OF are big lil b fans. but that’s neither here nor there. but just go and count all the rappers from 2008 to now who have “swag” ad-libs in their tracks thanks to brandon?

now you can say lil b has no lyrical content if you want but one thing we can’t deny about him is that he is a student of the game. in the last couple of years he has brought back flows, rap styles and aesthetics from new york, new orleans, houston, memphis, and even old school flows from his native land of the bay area in california. thus spreading an awareness of underground greats such as tommy wright iii, gangsta pat, la chat, gangsta boo, too $hort, suga free, dj quik, cormega, and many more.

which brings me to the old school feel of his album covers and the use of pen and pixel-esque artwork.

now you see that shit everywhere, whether or not these artists are getting it from lil b or getting it via the inspiration from the old school artists it’s still cemented that brandon did it 1st

now i could go on and on about this but it’s useless because you still gone hate on b and waka and say they’re garbage and all this and all that

but tell me something, can your favorite rapper sell out concerts and speaking engagements as fast as lil b can?

are you favorite rappers setting trends or following them?

now….don’t get all butt hurt over some of my opinions….they are just OPINIONS i have based off of watching, listening and paying attention to music, videos and pop/hip-hop culture through the last couple years

it’s just an assessment
